100th braille publication ceremony

It was in the month of June,2022 that Sunamganj and the “haor” areas of Sylhet was hit with one of the worst floods in its history with millions of people suddenly becoming homeless and helpless. Immediately, Sporsho Foundation extended its support by providing food items to the flood affected people in the “haor” areas of Jointiapur. This included drinking water, rice, lentils, snacks, vegetables etc.

As soon as the water-level lowered, Sporsho Foundation arranged day-long health camps for the people in Jointiapur and Chiknagul Area and provided free health check-ups and medicines. Almost 2000 people (from all age groups) were provided with free medicines, saline, pure drinking water, hand wash, soap, sanitary napkins and food items during this health-care drive. We arranged a safe zone for the affected children with recreation facilities and fun activities to help them come out of any trauma that they may have faced during this difficult time.

Medicines and hygiene products were also distributed in Sunamganj, Sylhet Sadar, Tilagarh areas. It is worth mentioning that Sposho took an inclusive/integrated approach and also involved the local police, students, teachers, local government officials to reach out to maximum people in the areas.Currently, Sporsho is taking steps to rehabilitate the flood flood affected people and help them to build back their homes which they lost during this horrible flood.

We also plan to conduct an eye camp where surgical intervention (if needed) will also be provided along with diagnisis and medication. We look forward to getting your support so that we can spread love and work to reach out to more people in need! Thanks!
